Year 1 tight ends rarely make an impact. That's how hard the position is to master. Considering he's only in his 2nd year as a UDFA with limited college ball, I'd say it's a safe bet he's inactive so long as Greg n Ed are healthy. Next year is the year of Swole Bones.

It would be interesting to see him get a chance in a regular season game. During the preseason he has shown good hands and an ability to gain yards after the catch. But during the regular season Rivera and Shula seem content to go with the "veterans only" approach even though neither Hartsock (last season) or Dickson (this season) have done anything to show that they provide an additional weapon to the offense. Hartsock could block and that skill led to him being unsigned for this season. Dickson can't catch and can't block. I'm eager for BW's contract to expire so he can go somewhere that he will be used.
