Probably because this should have been an open and shut case to tell the truth. May I ask have you followed the case any? If you have, and you were on a jury listening to it, would you convict Hardy?

He didn't choose a bench trial because his lawyer thought it'd be more difficult. You're never going to win a jury trial when a black giant beats up a white girl, no matter how coked up she was, unless you're willing to go full character assassination on her in the press.

And guys the jury trial is an appeal, not a new case. There lawyers will argue that all the legal proceedings either were or weren't up to par. At that point the jury decides, then the judge will either order a new trial or throw it out.

This is very obviously a stall tactic by hardy's legal team do that he can play this season and try to starve out his accuser. It's pretty cynical but nothing new.

I assume the bflpa would appeal a six game suspension to two since the incident took place prior to goodells new rules.

If the panthers were going to suspend him they would have done it already. It looks incredibly cynical to do it now.

There are many reasons people change lawyers or don't show up to court, and some of them are due to legal actions by hardy's far superior team.

Probably just keeping him away from the media while this witch-hunt happens. Especially those buffoons at the Observer.

I was about to say the same thing. Why try to let the media cause a distraction to the team. So just keep him out till they leave.
