He did stand judgement... He was found guilty.

I know there is an appeals process, but the fact remains, he has been found guilty.

I will have to lose his presence on the field if he were to go, but I fully understand the call (and frankly, it should have already been made).

Actually according to NC law that trial never happened the moment he invoked his right to be tried by a jury... it's a complete do-over.

Media relations is huge in professional sports. You don't want the media painting a bad picture of your organization because it effects sponsorships all the way down to player relationships.

One of my professors works in PR for the Redskins and he said they told the players three things they were not allowed to talk to the media about... 1) Redskins name, 2) Michael Sam, and 3) RGIII. Notice that two of the three have to do with image perception. Also the Redskins actually released D. Hall because he went public saying that he would not be opposed to a name change. Now they ultimately brought him back, but you better believe that organizations care about how they're perceived by the media.

I don't disagree. But this is a matter of allowing perception to damage not only your chances on the field but alienating your own players by punishing someone who may not deserve it. Priorities.
