Marvin McNutt is no longer unemployed.  Per Aaron Wilson, the Redskins have signed McNutt to their practice squad.

 

McNutt is the second former Panther to get a new job this week after the Seahawks signed corner Josh Thomas.  The Hawks had also previously plucked tackle Andrew McDonald from the Panthers practice squad.

 

Wilson also reports that the Saints gave former Panther RB Tauren Poole a tryout this week (no signing).  No word from Wilson (or anyone else) on Panther tryouts this week (the Tahj Boyd rumor was false; he tried out for the Bills).

 

And one player just recently became a former Panther.   The team reached an injury settlement with tight end D C Jefferson and waived him from injured reserve.  Wonder if the same will happen for others on IR anytime soon.

I think McNutt might be one of those guys teams look at and say "wow, he ought to be good".

 

A lot of those guys never are.

Plenty of experts argued that we'd go from 12-4 to a losing record. They do tend to take note of who you've got coming back and who you lose. Few were predicting that the Ravens would return to the SB after their recent championship run.

We were 6th in pass D under Wilks. Not giving the guy much credit there.

Seahawks definitely picked up Josh Thomas to give them any insight on the Panthers defense for the game later this year.  Seattle will have a hard time winning in Carolina this time around...watch us pick up one of their old players on the PS too.
