The Observer: Panthers Should Suspend Hardy Now

I'm still unsure why Goodell broke his own new rule............1st offense 6 game suspension, 2nd offense at least a 1yr ban. What Rice did was horrible... but we already knew it was horrible... why add the 1st offense 6 game suspension, if he was just going to bypass it anyway and go straight for the 1yr ban?

Is Rice a special case, since he was punished before the new domestic violence policy? Does the video of the first incident count as a second incident? So confusing.. my little mind can't handle it. Why not just ban him indefinitely to begin with?

All domestic violence isn't equal

I seriously hope Jerry and CO. doesn't fall into this crap. Everybody is still fresh off the Ray Rice video and are overracting to the max. These two cases aren't even close to the same. One knocked her ass out on video and the other called 911 because a coked out girl wouldn't leave. I'm not doing anything the media tells me to do.  Oh, and please god don't let Ashley Fox get back on this situation.

I think the NFL and the Ravens management let Ray characterize what happened inside the elevator and he admitted to to something that was vastly different than what the elevator tape showed. That turned the entire episode into something very different and painted Ray as a liar and the incident became something much more serious and visually shocking.

it's called making the rules up as you go.  that's what happens when people get desperate.  it worked out well for the nba in the sterling fiasco, but public opinion doesn't seem to be with goodell and nyc.  expect players to get fuged hard on this one.  the PC, fickle media types will cheer from the top of the mountain and the nfl will ultimately wind up getting itself sued again.

all they had to do was look at one lousy tape and throw the guy out on is face from the get.  or is that what the league office is wanting us to think?  probably better than the alternative of them knowing all along and trying to sweep this under the rug. now that the cats out of the bag the players are going to wind up falling on the sword.  if the players are sabotaged the owners' wallets take a hit.  no way goodell lasts.

I can believe that.              I can believe that his wife told Goodell that it was mostly her fault,  in the meeting where he met with both of them.

What Is this? I thought the dog-pack mentality of the media was probably a thing of the past.! What a wake up call for me!! This thing is complicated. Using the whirlwind stirred up by the Rice fiasco, the Observer wants to lead the lynch mob for Hardy. They presented a supposedly fair editorial which is nothing but a sensational garbage paper seller. Due process be damned!!! Of course written by folks who would be crying to high heaven if their own due process was stifled in any way. People are something. What a joke. Want some more fun? google: Janay Rice on Instagram and read about Janay Rice condemning the media for butting into her "business" with her husband.

So because you can actually see the punch thrown makes it worse then the first video? Why because it's not left to the imagination how it happend? We live in a TMZ society...Rice is a butthole but he should have got the 6 game punishment and gone for good the 2nd offense. Hardy needs to get his due process that is his right. If he is found guilty by his peers..then so be it.

All the "due process!!!" dummies are dummies. He already had his day in court. He was found guilty and his guilt is no longer a subject for debate. What he does have remaining at his disposal is an appeal process and that is another matter all together different from the guilty verdict. He's going to attempt to prove that his guilty verdict was reached inaccurately.

Do you even know what due process means? He was given it. The matter is now settled. Without his hail mary appeal of the court's decision it would already be over and done. His lawyers think they can lawyer him into lesser charges or perhaps overturn the conviction, but make no mistake that a conviction has been achieved. This man is G-U-I-L-T-Y until as such a time where he successfully mounts an appeal and less than 20% of appealed cases end up being modified in any way much less fully wiped out.

I say this every damn time this issue comes up, but what would you be saying about Greg Hardy if he were a Falcons player? If it's not the same poo you're saying right now, then you need to make sure that your head is in the right place to be talking about a domestic violence issue which has ZERO to do with rivalries or allegiances you have on the field.

Ok if you feel like the appeal process should be waived be cause of the guilty verdict than you should feel fine that it was a misdemeanor offense. . This is the same level as jaywalking, speeding or tossing a beer can on the ground at your tailgate. Hardy was not convicted of assault and battery. This looks to me like people want to drag hardy through the mud to shine a light on domestic violence without signing their own name to the article or because the story has legs.

I have no use for a man that hits a woman. None at all. His case looks like a woman running around on him, pushing his buttons, drinking till the wee hours of the morning then things got stupid. It's not in the same league as Rice.
