How not to apply for a job

I became a recruiter for Microsoft a few years back.

Interviews are designed to see how out of the box the candidate is.

The question was: "If you had to build a manned ship to Venus, and return with the crew intact, how would you do it?"

We were looking for "Why go to Venus in the first place?"

His answer was "What's Venus?"

 

My answer would be, how the hell would I know?  I am applying for Network Engineer, not Starfleet Academy.

 

Ok, I would be thinking it, but not actually saying it.

My wife is in charge of prescription medication at a retirement home.  Once a day she loads up a cart to take around to all the residents and give them their medication.  She calls herself a drug pusher.
