Cut or Keep Greg Hardy

Keep. Let his upcoming trial play out. Something is still a little fishy about Hardy's girlfriend.

Matt Ryan wears braided belts.

Something's fishy about everything in that trial. Greg Hardy wouldn't give a straight answer on whether or not champagne is alcoholic. Everyone looked bizarre in that first trial, which probably doesn't speak well of anyone.

Hardy didn't beat the living daylights out of her with an AK and bloody her, He picked up the phone called 911 - there are these women all over the NFL who are just waiting for a shot at easy money. When the sex and attention is free flowing because you can readily provide in abundance or it seems like it - you're barely able to see the kind of woman who will build a family and protect your wealth thanks to you being the 1 / million.

At least 95% of all nfl nba hockey, baseball players fall into this trap. From the look of things Greg has one of this women entangled with his career which I'm sure he'll get all cleaned up.

Actually they did. In domestic violence cases it is not the victim who can drop charges, but the state. They had all that evidence and decided to allow Rice into some pre-trial diversionary BS.

They did that because their best witness (The victim) turned against the people trying to help her.

Even with video it's hard to win a conviction when the victim will do her best to explain away the whole incident.

Plain and simple.

If the victim doesn't testify or participate, you'll have a hard time getting a conviction. Thats a waste of time and tax payers money

What DA would even need the victim to speak?  What you are describing is a case such as the Hardy one.  A he said, she said case.  The Ray Rice situation is about as slam dunk as you are ever going to get.  The entire incident is on video.  Just show up to trial, roll the tape, and get out of there.

I think Greg's attitude on the stand cost him the 1st trial.

If i'm his lawyer i'm telling him not to be such a dumb ass on the stand and show humility for the situation you put yourself in.

What you are describing is precisely WHY IT IS NOT UP TO THE VICTIM TO DROP CHARGES.  The justice system let her down.  This is what is plain and simple.

Also, by letting Rice walk unscathed New Jersey sent a message to the NFL and Ravens that this was no big deal.  Guess what?  Both the NFL and Ravens proceeded to treat this incident like it was business as usual.

If the victim doesn't speak then you have a point.

But if the victim becomes the defense best witness (like Janie seem like should would to protect Ray) and discredit or explain away the video. As a prosecutor it's hard to win the case.

Again if the victim is willing to help the defense team instead of letting the video do all the talking. Specially in a jury trial a prosecutor has a low chance to win the case. So they take what they can get.

Yeah, his attitude about the whole thing was weird. I don't know. Speaking from a team point of view, I suppose we could have suspended him after the first guilty verdict and moved on with the whole thing? Or are we not capable of doing that under the CBA?

I just don't like the idea of saying "well, he appealed. Not our problem. We'll trade him in a year." Is that not just morally looking the other way for our own gain?

I'm curious as to how much explaining away the victim can actually do to convince a jury she deserved to be KOd in an elevator.  This isn't as difficult as you are attempting to make it.

Irrelevant.

If a state prosecutor decided to press aggravated assault charges or whatever, they have it on tape. She wouldn't be called as a witness for the prosecution, and anything that precipitated that event would be deemed irrelevant.

Rice is just lucky she didn't die when she hit her head.
