Cut or Keep Greg Hardy

Every couple gets into fights at some point.  Decking a broad twice really hard possessing NFL strength is worse.  Rice could have killed that woman.

I more concerned that Greg did more that's what been released.

Like I said, the KO was brutal. But have you ever heard of women afraid to leave their husbands due to constant verbal abuse? I have zero sympathy for Rice and zero sympathy for Hardy if he did what she said he did. Sadly we'll never know if Greg did more unless someone filmed it. We'd have never known what Rice did had their not been a camera in the elevator.

Her story: Hardy strangled her to the point where she wanted to die, threw her onto a bed full hard metal weapons, drug her around and roughed her up, and slammed a toilet lid down on her arm. He then called the police and told her she was going to jail, so she fled the scene. She has a little bruise on her arm.

Hardy's story: She snuck off and started snorting cocaine. Once she was lit and angry, she then decided to rejoin the party. They had an argument, she flew off the handle and hit Hardy in the head with her shoe. Hardy's friend grabbed her and she went berserk trying to break free. Hardy called 911. The women fled the scene before the cops arrived. She has a little bruise on her arm, and big whopping story.

If an NFL player threw you into a bed full of weapons, slammed a toilet lid on your arm, man handled you, and strangled you within an inch of your life, then you would have a lot much than a bruise on your arm.

Ultimately the court will decide, but I like Hardy's chances of winning the case. The hard evidence doesn't support that woman's story at all.

You don't know that.  Just because he wasn't in danger doesn't mean he wasn't provoked excessively.  Hell hath no wrath like a woman scorned.

To be clear I'm not condoning what he did in any way.  I did break up with a girl once and she tried to drink mouthwash.  I poured it in the toilet and she then tried to drink the toilet water.  While the cab was on the way she smacked the poo out of me and broke every glass in my kitchen.

Because I try my best to be a man, I didn't lay a finger on her.  Boy did I want to though.

I've dated some crazy ones before too.

Rice was unprovoked.  He waited till they got in the elevator then knocked her out.  Fugging cheap shot at that.

You're right about that.  We won't know, but there might be more evidence out there considering he got indicted on the charges. I do know Hardy is the next media target....Schefter has foreshadowed the event.

I hate to say it......................................................but I don't feel bad or pity Rice's woman.  She married him...she defended him...and if any "White Knight" tried to attack her husband in her defense..  she would most likely throw that guy under the bus in favor of Rice.

Hardy's situation is different.....Truly a he said/she said...and the she said part of it was coked up and drunk.

Knocking someone out is definitely more ... brutal. But the more I think about it, Hardy's incident COULD (depending on what actually happened) be just as bad.

With Rice it was a tiff in an elevator that led to one quick punch. Over. But what if Hardy and the girl argued for over ten minutes? And what if he chased her? Grabbed her? Got in her face and yelled? Pushed her? She probably feared for her life. So, emotional trauma versus waking up with a black eye.

Sentencing at the jury trial was only probation - a slap on the wrist.  He probably did yell and push her.  He definitely didn't chase her down, he wanted her the hell out of there otherwise he wouldn't have called 911.  She bolted the second the police arrived and has never stated he held her hostage.

I wouldn't say any of it qualifies as emotional trauma, emotionally disturbing seems more in line.

He damn well could have.  And the NFL knows better than anyone the long term effects of blunt trauma to the head.

If Greg did do more than what's been released, why didn't she use that in her case?

Unless there is hard evidence like video tape Hardy needs to have his due process. I suppose no one should draft Jameis Winston next year because he was accused of awful things.

I'm all about giving Hardy a fair shake unless there's been a lack of transparency and there's more known that hasn't been let out.  That's pretty much my thought on it as well.  Not trying to kneejerk. It's just something the Panthers need to be prepared for.

Yeah hopefully Hardy's quit the coke.  I can tell he does it by how much he sniffles.

Unless Rice's woman told Goodell that she directly attacked Rice and he had no choice but to strike her...........  then I'm not sure why he waits until now to suspend him indefinitely.

Goodell knew that Rice struck her,  he knew that he knocked her out..  why punish Rice twice for the same crime?   If a video with a different angle comes out of the hit,  will Goodell impose a perma ban on Rice?

I mean,  get it right the first time.

Like I said before, people are too stupid to internalize situations that have been perfectly confirmed without a silly video to show it, hence the follow up outrage.

I think Rice will get reinstated.  Gregg Williams did.
