Fernando Velasco & Trai Turner

Fox had Turner as the starter but I heard it was Velasco who started, who was it?

I also don't know if we plan on rotating our line every week like we did this week. I give props to who ever had the idea to do so. McCoy and Johnson are great players and to only give up one sack and have over 100 yards rushing without Cam is impressive to me.

Next week we will have to play against the top DT in the NFL. We will also have to play against Naga in the upcoming weeks as well. Our interior will be tested but if we can play like we did this week I have no fear of us failing to protect the QB.

Typically I would check the official game book .pdf that is always available from Panthers.com but it doesn't seem that they have published it yet. Which is odd.

Thanks. I was wondering where to find the number of plays for each player. Do you know where to find that info?

Have to agree with Carolina Chuck about rotating the O-lineman being a superior concept. Keeps everyone fresh and builds experienced linemen out of rooks. Man I have a great feeling about the way this team is being run. I only see one fault which I hope the coaches see and correct. It is this, we must not take our foot off the gas late in games and lose momentum defending a lead rather than attacking all game. Isn't it an obvious and well known football fact?. An aggressive attacking offense can ironically have a similar  effect as a great defense!

idk. i would almost rather run the clock out if we have a comfortable margin midway through the 4th. i dont disagree with the way the offense was run on sunday. i DO disagree with the way the defense was run. 17 points is a comfortable margin midway through the 4th quarter, AS LONG AS your defense keeps attacking. but thats not what Sean McDermott did. he started playing prevent defense and that is what allowed the Bucs to storm back. our defense got conservative and out of its element.

in short, i am perfectly fine with running a balanced and methodical offense until midway through the 4th, so long as the defense never quits. our defense needs to motor all game long. our offense just needs to manage the game and put up as many points as they can, while also wasting as much time as they can.

Thanks again.

I wonder why Blackburn only played 2 snaps, I could of sworn I saw him on the field more than that. I also saw that Star, and Short only played about 50% of the snaps.

Norman and Fozzy didn't play any snaps.

I think it was the packages we were playing in against Tampa. We had Bene in as a 3rd CB and had Klein in a few times. Could have been to compete against alot of 3rd WR sets and against a receiving TE

Yeah Velasco started. Fox did little more than look at the depth chart where Turner is listed ahead of him.

Also would like to point out that other than Folkers playing 2 snaps, the right side is the only side that did any rotating. Bell and Amini played the whole game.

Would also like to point out that although the Lions have a couple pretty good D-linemen, we don't really face any really good D-lines for a while. Which gives us some time to get our line some playing time. Whether we settle on a rotation, or try and pick a starting 5.

Lastly, it sure is nice to not have to read all that gloom and doom crap this week. Thank you O-line.

Yeah, not that it's a big deal, but can we shift this discussion back towards the Turner and Velasco thing? So why did we see Fernando more? Because I know we were sold that Trai was gonna really help us steamroll in the running game.

I tend to lean towards Turner conditioning wasn't in top shape being out with an injury. He definitely played a few snaps. It'll be something to keep an eye out on, since we're watching the oline closely anyway
