Cam's Contract Projection by Spotrac

Gucci Mane

We dont have a franchise without Cam long-term. have to pay him

You pay him intelligently and what he's really worth. See Kansas City? They wouldn't have a (Chiefs fans + org.) "franchise" without Alex Smith long term. What happened? 3ints vs. Tenn.

Cam should be paid, but the most a similar deal to Kaep. Not $24mil a year.

I have to guess that "Spotrac" forgot that our GM is Dave Gettleman. 6yr/140mil is insane.

Ever heard the saying "treat your woman right, or someone else will"? Same concept applies here. Either we pay Cam or someone else does. And to those saying "Cam will do a team friendly deal" the answer is no. Like other people have said his agent is Bus fuging Cook. Cam will not do any of the negotiations. Cook is a bloodhound for the money.

A Kaepernick deal (6yr/126mil, $61 guaranteed) would be treating Cam tooooo RIGHT. Anything more is plain stupid considering Kaep been in a SB and has a playoffs record of 4-2.

That's a ridiculous projection by Spotrac, and even worse seeing fans being okay to give Cam that kind of money. I mean aren't you guys the same people who puked looking at Kaep's deal? And, now y'all want to give a bigger deal than that to Cam?

Be smart. Stupid contracts are the reason why we are here with our hands tied behind our backs while we have needs elsewhere. I don't want to go through that again.

Most of you guys fail to realize that new contracts are more based on what you WILL do rather than what you HAVE done.

I know that the latter is important but Cam has improved every year (especially for being the only young QB to NOT stay at a D1 school for 4 years), and proven enough to warrant a long term high dollar extension. I dont WANT the contract to be too huge obviously but I wouldnt say he isnt worth it.

Gettleman isn't as stupid as some of y'all. He'll give Cam a similar deal to Kaep. Watch.

Being nice or giving a good deal to a player the fans liked (Dwill/Stew) is why we are here with no LT.

you do understand what smoke and mirrors means, don't you?  kaep's deal is not what it seems.  you need to use another example to make the nonsensical point you are attempting to make.  probably flacco or cutler.

hard for me to take you serious when you are claiming kaep's deal is somehow not team friendly when the 49ers can get out from under it at any time with minimal costs down the road.  not to mention all the pay for play, play for pay type language written into his contract.

Kaepernick is really only getting $12M guaranteed.

and then his final annual pay is based on performance.  the panthers would kill to get a kaepernick deal.  if kaep misses time he can lose money.  if kaep loses his mojo (happens in the NFL all the time) or gets hurt bad the 49ers can cut him in the offseason and no longer be on the hook for his contract.  he basically has a series of one year contracts that re-up every year in april or may, but the 49ers are not obligated to continue on with if they so chose.

Yeah. I can't imagine Cam getting something like this.

Who knows

"Hard for me to take you serious". Lol

I don't even know who you are. Probably the first time I've seen you on here.

    • I have nothing against Mike Evans, it's that he keeps saying it's ridiculous for me to think T-Mac will be a better player than Evans, based on Evans totality of his career statistical output. They're not the same thing, at all.  Basically what he's arguing is that it would be insane for someone to say any RB coming into the league is going to be better than Frank Gore.  There are going to be LOTS of RBs over the years who are better than Gore but will never make the HOF.   Or how about comparing a QB to Rivers or Eli?  There are going to be a lot of QBs that you'd predict will be better, and for a period of time will be, but they won't be able to do it long enough to have the same career as those guys. Longevity of great play does not equal an elite player, it equals an elite career.  If you're building a team for one season, health aside and looking at peak performance, there are way too many WRs over the last decade that I'd take over Evans to consider him a true elite WR in my mind. For example, I looked it up, here is where he has finished every season ranked in Receptions and Yards 2014 - 36th in Rec and 19th in Yds 2015 - 30 and 11 2016 - 6 and 4 2017 - 23 and 15 2018 - 17 and 3 2019 - 36 and 13 2020 - 32 and 18 2021 - 28 and 22 2022 - 25 and 13 2023 - 24 and 9 2024 - 28 and 23 He's played 11 seasons, only twice finished higher than 23rd in receptions and 3 times in the Top 10 in yards, 5 of the 11 outside the Top 15.  Outside of 2016 and 2018, he really wasn't ever an elite WR outside of being an elite red zone threat.   Evans was a great WR who had an elite career, not an elite WR
    • I’m not sure what Mike Evans did to offend you but if we draft a WR at 8 that is Mike Evans I think everyone in Carolina would be ecstatic
