Well the Lions LBs and secondary are very small. Way too many match up issues for them with Olsen and Benjamin.

 

The Lions OL is on skates against a less than average DL. Especially at the guard positions. Panthers DL is going to feast on that OL.

 

Lions rely on long developing plays. Not something they can do against the Panthers D.

 

Panthers offense will control the game.

 

Panthers DL must pressure Stafford and collapse the pocket quickly. Kuechly v Stafford. Luke is going to have the advantage there as he will be able to counter Stafford's call and throw him off his rhythm.

 

Be very physical with Calvin Johnson like they did with Vincent Jackson. Melvin White will wear Calvin Johnson down physically. Calvin Johnson is great, but when it comes to being physical he is average.

 

Advantage Panthers since I like Luke over Stafford in the chess match, and the Lions D is outmatched by the Panthers offensive personnel.

I'd prefer White on Calvin and Cason on Tate.  Maybe that's how we roll things out.  

 

We've got the front-7 speed to contain Bush and Bell and we should be able to put on some pressure without blitzing.   

 

I like which ever one is better at press coverage on Johnson.

I don't think this is as much of a joke as you may have intended it. Nor is it braggadocios. The giants decline or free fall began shortly after man stopped pointing out who the should target in the offseason. He didn't call the shots but his opinion was carefully weighed. We got a gem of a GM no fuggin doubt.

Just gotta relentlessly harass Stafford and we can win.  Let DeCoud play "centerfield" all game.  Our linebackers should be fine against the run.

 

I'm not sold on Detroits pass rush, particularly on the edge.  Focus on protecting the interior and our offense should be able to click.  Could see Jstew making an impact.

 

Also, we need to hope Cam has purged all that kryptonite from his body.

As much as gettleman did for them, I do think the biggest reason for their sudden decline is what happened with their oline.

 

Eli wasn't doing much despite being granted the largest NFL contract in history, then they went out in free agency and snagged a handful of veteran journeyman linemen who weren't deemed all that valuable in the market (sound like a similar FA strategy?).  Eli was getting adequate protection and any wide-out they put on the field was producing. 4-5 years later those linemen have retired, been cut or their skills have significantly deteriorated.

The only problem I see is matts elusiveness in the pocket. Dude is an athlete. We need to be in his face the entire time.

D line gets pressure were good, they're going to have to do better then the bucs

 

soft coverage may get ate alive if d line doesn't get pressure, keep a eye on calvin...........luke will have a good test this sunday with ebron

Some people need to go back and see how Melvin plays. He worked Vincent Jackson at the line, and Melvin had all the timing and angles down. He was controlling Jackson's routes all game.
