NFL policy may be changing a tad...

You have done nothing but defend Hardy and make excuses for him. He lost the trial, and you want to talk about how the accuser was late and smiled. Guess what, he lost the trial and the evidence against him looks damning. Acting like an appeal trial is a sign of innocence is some three blind mice bullshit on your part.

Have a good one, but this whole exchange has been a bummer.

Evidence against him looks damning?  For one there is no concrete evidence like there is in the Rice case.  This is a pure he-said she-said case.  The extent of the damage is minuscule compared the what Rice did, regardless of Hardy being truly guilty or not (Rice is what? 5'10 200 and change?  Hardy is like 6'4 280).  Light bruising can easily be caused by restraint or self-inflicted.  Point is, we are dealing with drastically different animals here and even in a worst case scenario, I don't see him getting near

Hardy's story also falls in line with both accounts from police officers (police initially came to remove Holder from the premises, his arrest wasn't warranted until hours later).  Holder runs from the police, admits to cocaine use and possession along with consumption of alcohol.  Police saw her get in her vehicle, throw a bag of marijuana out the window and drive away.  If we are now convicting people of crimes based purely off accusations, why isn't she being detained for possession of two illegal substances and driving under the influence of alcohol and amphetamines?

Appeal trial a sign of innocence?  No it's called the right of due process, a right every American citizen possesses.  You have every right to be tried by a group of peers.  Officials can be biased to retain voters of particular demographics and of course they can be bought.  Hence why the only method of conducting a "fair" trial is to have a jury made up of other American citizens with nothing directly vested in the outcome (this isn't Nazi Germany, although it's getting there).

A simple google search will quickly show you this judge has an alarming number of cases in favor of particular attorneys.  See http://judgetinexposed.blogspot.com/ as a simple example.  In general, a large majority of people vastly underestimate the amount of corruption in government.  Sadly, due to my career, I have seen the numbers directly at the city level (multiple cities) and it makes me sick.

In closing, I'm not here to advocate whether or not Greg is guilty as it is not my decision to make.  I do find it awfully shortsighted for you to insinuate that a single county judge's verdict holds significantly more weight than what working, taxpaying citizens think about the situation.

Concerning the NFL on this, some may be calling for Goodell's job.  It looks like his rule over the NFL might be coming to a close.  Some of you may not remember it, but I know Condoleezza Rice has always voiced her ambition of becoming commissioner of the NFL.  If Goodell is forced out or resigns, this would be her chance to get the job.  More and more women are becoming fans of the NFL, and it's possible the league has been involved in something of a cover up with Ray Rice.  Having Condoleezza become the commish would be very interesting under normal circumstances and I would be for it, but it would be a huge plus under these circumstances.

necessary response from the NFL..but all this does is hurt the victimize her even more which is the most fugged up part. they are married. Ray Rices money is her money. NFL just cost her a lot of money for getting knocked the fug out.

You really should think before you post.

Haha, he went through a "real" trial. Jesus, feminist man eater. It's pathetic how a man can toss around a woman half his size and be viewed as oppressed.

A "real" trial consists of a jury of peers.

If he had tossed her around as she claimed, she would probably be getting nourished through a tube right now.

First....great win and feels good.Bring on the Lions for win #2. Check out the new TMZ sports video of Rice cold cocking his now "wife" on the elevator camera. She hit him first, then he throws a haymaker to the head. Tried to link it but could not get it to work.Posted this on the football central site, but also brought it here since it relates indirectly to a Panther player..The NFL says that it will take all cases on an indivual basis and dole out punishment as they see fit, so they may be backtracking on the mandatory 6 games..Once this goes viral the NFL will have to give Rice 6 games.Hardy may only get the 2 since his case is he said/she said even if convicted by the jury.Hope we cold cock the Ravens like that P.O.S did to that woman...hit first or not.

I don't think anyone here noticed but he provoked his wife to swing on him by spitting on her at 0:07 then again at 0:23. I really liked Ray Rice but after seeing this I've lost all my respect for him.

    • When we drafted Luke, we already had Cam, Smith, Olsen, Stewart, Deangleo, Gross, Kalil, CJ, Hardy, Beason, TD, Gamble (and maybe more I'm forgetting), we had a lot of great pieces in place. Going pure BPA for a player with Luke's potential when the LB you already have is different when you already have all those pieces in place.  Our OL right now is probably in a better shape than that team and our RBs and TE have potential compared to proven vets back then, but after that, the 2012 roster was in a far better shape than we are right now. We need a #1 WR, DEs, LBs, DBs, C, and depending who you ask a QB.  Going BPA at pick #5 when that player is a DT and your current best player on either side of the ball is a DT, seems irresponsible. If he's the only player they like that high left, then you trade back and go with position of more need at a slot that makes sense for the player while adding other picks.  If you trade back and he falls because other teams don't need/want a DT, then you consider him at that point because of the value.
    • This sounds like the same back and forth when we drafted a LB when we already had a LB or as mentioned prior back to back DLs. I want the BPA, if it is another DT so be it. (No not a kicker/punter for those people that think they are funny))
