Ok here is what I don't get, everyone and their grandmother knew ray rice hit his girlfriend now wife knocked her out, and then dragged her out of the elevator. everyone knew this so why is it that there's video everyone's now shocked? if you're shocked about the video you're a fuging moron, you don't knock someone out with a gentle slap on the face, the outrage at this point over the video is dumb as hell.

You can be mad about the initial penalty but to me the video is exactly how I pictured it going down...

It's because no one wants to picture what actually happens, and now everyone's memory of Ray rice is going to be that video rather than him running for touchdowns, or posing with the Super Bowl trophy. Jim Celania made a good point this morning on 610, that if there were videos that the public could see of Michael Vick electrocuting dogs that he probably never would have been reinstated to play.

I think the Ravens and the NFL tried hard to look the other way and make this go away as painlessly as possible. And then TMZ strikes with this video. They could have obtained that video if they wanted or at least talked to the police and find out what went down. I think both the Ravens and the NFL got caught trying to sweep this under the rug and protect their brand. Now that this video is out, they get on some crusade smh

The main thing that was different from what I imagined is that she didn't attack him first. From some of the reports, I had the impression that she was beating the hell out of him before he hit her. That wouldn't be an excuse... but I think it makes a difference in how the whole thing is perceived. 

 

I agree with your main point though. He knocked her out, it wasn't going to be pretty, no matter what.

 

I can't really feel that sorry for her though. It probably wasn't the first time he hit her, and I doubt it will be the last. Yet, she married him anyway.

i do agree with you though rodeo, i think she's damaged and being held hostage. i think she has full blown stockholm syndrome.   but nobody can save her if she doesn't want to be saved.

 

i noticed the way she looked at him for approval after everything she read for the cameras during the press conference.   her statement released yesterday disgusted me.
