Panthers '14 O on like Donkey Kong: rookie sensation KB: 92 yds; Proven TE/new team captain Olsen: 83 yds

everybody knows our D would dominate the league for years to come. Offense was huge question mark to a lot of analysts with all the new faces. But everybody knew Olsen was pretty much unstoppable and KB was being unstoppable in preseason

So just game plan to take those two out of the game, chips, jams, brackets, double coverage, LB scrapes, etc.

Doesn't work. KB and Olsen still get theirs. Those two got 19 of our 32 on-target passes today throw at them (59%)

Opened up heavily-bashed-by-national-media Cotchery and Avant to get a combined 5 receptions on 5 targets (%16 of our on-target passes)...100 percent throwing to them.

The remaining 25% of our on-target passes (8) were to RBs out of the backfield

And this is with a proven career failure (more career INTs than TDs, crapola 69.1 career rating, career losing 18-25 record as a NFL QB) Derek Anderson at QB today on the road in hot weather Florida

Wait until the real QB we have comes back 100% after 3 weeks to heal from his hairline fracture when we play the Lions in Wk 2

DWill shuts up the odd hater base he has in Panther Nation with 72 yds on 14 carries (5.1 ypc)

JStew fails the odd DWill haters with an choketaculur 2.2 ypc on 9 carries (you know he will never do this bad again)

Tolbert had 1.6 ypc on 7 carries and we had people here thinking he should be our feature RB (don't know about that but if so watch out)

2014 Panthers Offense looks to be ON LIKE DONKEY KONG!!

WATCH OUT NFC!

While you're busy being excited at the possibilities, consider these two unremarkable factoids...

Ed Dickson didn't get a target that I saw.

Stephen Hill is in the capable hands of Ricky Proehl, and while he may not be as good as KB, he's good enough to line up across from him once he learns the playbook.

Supposedly the Tampa D-line is pretty good. If it is, then our O-line is a hell of a lot better than anyone thought it would be.  I can see this team having a pretty damned good offense by November.  And who would have thought that?

and to add to this, we got proven career failure Derek Anderson a whopping 108.7 passer rating today. Wait until our real QB takes over

No he didn't , Cook's looked great , but KB is the real deal and glad we have him.

Cooks looked solid, I watched that game.  He didn't have any spectacular catches or anything.  He may have had a few more yards than KB, but KB was catching passes from Derek Anderson and Cooks was catching from Drew Brees.  All of Cooks' passes were right where they should be for easy catches.  Again, he did well but he didn't do anything special today.  KB was special.

That kid for the Jags though, he balled out.  Didn't realize he was a rookie.  I'd have to give KB the silver medal in this one.
