He dropped 1 at most, caught the only TD. So what are you talking about? He was the only one to make a play. you said he hasn't played like that in 3 years which is obviously wrong. Olsen was already Cam's prime target last year so smith leaving did not really benefit him. Keeping Smith and the addition of KB would have benefitted all involved . Obviously this was not an on field performance issue or move.

olsen had 73 receptions and 4 drops.   steve smith had 64 receptions and 6 drops.  he's already in the top 4 in the league after one game in drops, and he's not even their #1 target.

 

and that "one drop" you're referring to happened on a crucial 3rd and 12

I personally don't care if Steve Smith runs his routes backwards with one arm and a blindfold on. The fact remains his name should soon appear on the stadium ring of honor as one of the best players this team ever had.
