here's the thing: I didn't want to re-sign Lafell anyway

I don't think a single Panther fan really wanted to resign LaFell. I think most assumed going into the offseason we would drop LaFell and Hixon, keep Smith, try to sign Ginn, and then FINALLY draft a real receiver so Smith didn't have to be the number one.

Old man Smith wanted to play the slot for the last few years as he's stated several times. This dumbass "AY LOOK AT LAFEEL LOL!" makes no fuging sense, and is only distracting from the real issue of letting Smith go, paying him to leave, and no even making Ginn an offer before he tested FA.

Anybody check out Steve Smith Sr's?

Yep.

I noticed that he was targeted 15 times for 7 catches.

I noticed that in one game KB got 12% of SSS's 2013 total yardage.

I noticed that in one game KB got 25% of SSS's 2013 total TDs.

I noticed that SSS's team lost.

I noticed that KB's team won.

These are just a few of the things I noticed.

If people are going to continue to state that we paid Smith to leave they should at least also state how much cap space we saved by letting him go. Yes, part of his salary was guaranteed this year but we freed up cap space by letting him go.

Really happy for Smitty. Other than our game, I hope he has a monster season. I will always love him and want to see him in HoF and retire a Panthers.

As for Oh Wee Mayne, who gives a fug. Seriously. He was a good but not great draft pick and moved on. We have too. Couldn't be more apathetic about him

Not to mention...

KB had 40% of the Panthers total passing yardage today and caught 25% of the team's completed passes.

Smith had 34% of the Ravens total passing yardage today and caught 20% of the team's completed passes.

Not taking away from what Smith did, but when you throw the ball 62 times like the Ravens did, your receivers are going to put up big numbers.
