I don't think Ron is thinking ahead. I think he is thinking about September 7th, he will take the film from today and medical information and make a decision next week based on next week.

All of this logic about "he will just get hit next week anyways" doesn't mean anything. Ron has to make a decisions for today.

This is a valiant effort to cover for the team but Ron has made very clear he isnt making this decision with today in mind.

Yall realize this is just voths opinion at this point ?

Bill doesn't put stuff out there this definitive if it is just his opinion. Someone close to the team gave him info and he is going with it. The only chance it is wrong is because the info he was given is wrong or just misinformation.

this is where i got the idea he left during stretching, i misread and it is more like as soon as stretching was done, he realized he couldnt practice on Wed.

Newton, who suffered a fractured rib against the New England Patriots in the third week of the preseason, experienced soreness, so after donning pads and stretching with the team, he went inside for treatment.

"He came in and worked with (head athletic trainer Ryan Vermillion) in preparation for this weekend," Rivera said. "A lot of it had to do with the way he felt. We've always had to be fluid.

That was Wednesday, hopefully he has recovered enough to gut it out today but if stretching caused pain, then imagine a what a hit will do.  This was a few days ago and he has practiced since, but I use this as an example of how severe his injury is.  He is one of the toughest SOB's in the league.

Cam would not be the first, nor last qb to play with broken ribs.

Forgive me for not diving a darn about what past QB's did with their own injuries.

I'm more concerned with our QB whom is supposed to lead our team into the future, the QB whom hasnt really been able to practice and play at 100% because of the surgery during camp and the preseason, and the QB whom RR cant seem to control to the point that he puts himself out there to get hit/reinjured again.

I'm not a fan of other QB's. I'm a fan of OUR team and care far more about our future to not base what Cam can or should do off comparisons of what others have done. Too many factors dictate such situations
