at least we're in a position that our 53 man roster is good enough that we actually have talented players being pushed to inactive. with hurney we had half a dozen guys every year, like armati edwards, that were literally useless and just took up roster space

Because he has shown flashes and needs to continue to develop because he has some upside.

Brandon Williams is are best blocking TE; he shown that he can catch and play special teams!!! 

 

So yeah... Why are they not utilizing him?

I'm not sure. I'm as big a Brandon Williams fan as anyone but I also trust our coaching staff to piece together the best active roster they can for game days. They would know better than fans would.

To put it another way, we used to complain about who was active. Fua, McClain, Nakamura, etc.

Williams is more versatile.....Brockel is more reliable in what he does

Brandon Williams is physical but his technique is crap. This is the big leagues, no more camp bodies to sling around.

 

I would have preferred BW to be active but I understand it. Bersin I would have preferred to be active too. I'm sincerely worried about turnovers on special teams. It's been an issue early in the season for the past several seasons. 

 

What does an active Fozzy mean? Are we running the ball more? Is he playing special teams and kick returns? Why not just deactivate Deangelo??

 

My other thought is we might be carrying extra lineman because we lost like 4 guards last year in week 1.

deactivate DeAngelo....pay check ain't gonna have that happen anytime soon. I would wager first quater is mainly Williams rushing. So get your popcorn ready for the 1 yarders
