Man woulda loved to see Weezer live. How were they?

Never been to Weenie Roast. Haven't liked a lot of bands that played it in past.

Charlotte needs to bring back Cityfest.

Cityfest was one of my fave concert events ever.. I went with a girl from work who I was all into but we were only friends. We saw the Foo Fighters when brand new, B-52s, Barenaked Ladies..then I totally hooked up with her eventual crazy ass rated R style in the apartment common area behind Rock Bottom Brewery!

This story has nothing to do with the weenie roast which i have never hooked up with anyone at.. Bleh!

That was my first Cityfest I attended. I was a sophomore in high school and was a huuuuge Nirvana geek at the time. I remember afterwards one of my buddies said to me, "just saw one-third of Nirvana" and I was like fug yeah we did. That was when Foo Fighters was at their best. They opened with All My Life and finished with Everlong. Seriously an epic memory.

I saw most of those same bands but I also remember seeing Collective Soul friday night and The Wallflowers I think right after Foo Fighters ended.

BTW- all this talk about Fuel... meh, they're alright. They played uptown free one year for Speedstreet or something I can't even remember. It was alright... but their singer was kinda douchey.

Yeah it was hilarious to have Dave Grohl stop the concert bc their stage was flemsey and a few mosh pits broke out. He said he was going to sooth us with ballads and taught the crowd the pogo where no one touches each other!!

Of course a pregnant lady got hit in the head with a brick and medi carted off..

people like to poo on staind

but i saw them when dysfunction came out and aaron lewis had one of the most powerful voices i've ever heard even though it was unbelievably depressing. it literally took your breath away. he was electric.

Agreed 100%. I will say I don't like some of his newer more radio friendly 'whinier' stuff, and most fans would believe dysfunction was staind's first cd when in actuality a cd called tormented or torment was their first cd and was extremely raw, brutal and depressing.

I loved tormented and liked dysfunction and break the cycle was so so but like you said when he was on stage his voice and energy was just amazing to me and I've see many similar bands that don't compare. He truly feels his music and it's original like him or not. My favorite song he does live and in general after experiencing it live is 'crawl' from dysfunction, when I saw that live I got goosebumps.

You're right people do give staind poo but like I said those are people who have heard his radio poo and think dysfunction was his first cd. If you explore Aaron in his younger days and see him live, it really makes you appreciate him as a musician and

Artist.
