On Cam Newton's Playing Status...

Starting Cam and then having to go to DA seems worse than just starting DA to me.

You may be right on that.I would hate to see him get racked up .You know they will be sending the house on him thinking that the passing game isn't developed enough to be a concern.

If Cam starts and then is removed then it's because 1) he's struggling, 2) he's hurting, or 3) we won't feel it's safe for him because he's not being protected. Any of those will kill confidence. If we start DA then they're saying this is the guy who gives us the best chance to win today.

Much rather it be one game than 6. If Can is not healthy we have to roll the dice. Besides we have yet to win the first game since 2008 so its really not going to kill us if we lose.

You could hold him out and then he blows a knee out the next game.

Better QBs than Cam have played with comparable injuries.....so have lesser QBs. If he can play, he should. If he can't make the throws he shouldn't. I don't support holding him if he could suck it up

If he is injured he needs to sit, if he is ready to go, let's rock n roll.

Can't sweat it. Our defense is hopefully going to eat on Sunday and remind the world why McClown is a journeyman, not a savior.

My gut tells me Cam is going to play. I know he is going to say he is good to go regardless, so hopefully the team doctors steer him in the right direction

But when he comes back, I don't want him to change a thing, and he said he wont. He is a tough SOB

this has probably been posted elsewhere but fwiw

I have no doubt he will be on the field, even if he and coach Ron Rivera left open the possibility the two-time Pro Bowler might not be after being so adamant he would for the past week.

Sometimes the comments on here are just are unbelievable. Lets throw some of you out there and get pounded by 300 lb lineman and see if you can even pick your asses off the ground....you would be carted off after one body slam.

I have changed my mind. I say sit Cam. A big reason we are a successful running team is the threat of Cam running. He does for our running game what Percy Harvin does for Seattle.

Cam is not just gonna sit in the pocket. We can't protect him without him running. He also takes alot more hits running. The risk of him seriously hurting his ribs are too great.

So he should let him heal a bit more. Besides, i wanna see what the offense will without him.
