Trying to catch the ball with that kind of positioning of your arms/hands is immensely difficult. Flip them over and your hands move with your eyes (& vice versa) instinctively.

Exactly my thought...it's weird that's something he needs to be told. His previous coaches all the way back to college were def asleep at the wheel. I learned this in peewee

The BBR video on today's practice has Hill and Benjamin basically running the same route. The ball goes right through Hill's hands, but Benjamin just plucked it right out of the air. 

 

The more i see and read, the more i think it's definitely coordination issues.

Ricky Prohel is a fugging boss. He already has KB looking like an absolute steal at 28.

Idk why but I was perusing the Jets board and one of their fans acknowledged that he was a great WR coach, even though he's been at it for a year officially.

Still, even when he was a player you could tell that he was a consummate professional and had a hand in the development of some of our younger WRs. I wonder besides him being in carolina what the link was between him and our coaching staff.

@Panthers: Rivera says the team hopes to get a long look at Hill in practice. Depending on how he performs, he'll get promoted to 53-man roster.

He IS also two months younger than KB13 so it is like we drafted another rookie WR with elite measurables who would have been no later than a third rounder in this draft.

Ricky P is the X factor so its now or never...like what KB said about Prohel, " he taught me that you catch with your eyes...." a lesson Hill needs to learn and get instinctual to fully maximize his potential.

If Ricky can coach this guy up into a 1000yd downfield/endzone threat we might have a first class WR core building here.  You couldn't dream up better physical specimens to be your outside receivers.  Db's are going to be soiling themselves

One of the things we heard about Armanti Edwards is Coach Fox basically stuck him in the corner and didn't work with him in 2010. How true that is, we don't know. But it sounds like that won't happen with Hill. In my experience Ricky is a humble guy. I don't think he's the type to only give his time to vets and stars. But the NFL season is a grind and winning with the 53 is more important than teaching the practice squad.

The thought had crossed my mind. But Ricky is still young in Coach years. I'm afraid he won't be ready for that job until Cam's retired. He still has to become an Offensive Coordinator at some point. But I think he's a hot name in the NFL.
