Stephen Hill First Impressions

i have a lot of respect for bersin. he's worked really hard. but genetics just aren't fair and hill falling down the stairs would be more athletic than bersin running routes. can't keep a sub par talent on the 53 just because he's a cool story and went to the owners alma mater. he only made the team because the WRs are so bad, therefore easily replaced

Count me in as being on the Stephen Hill bandwaggon. He has the speed, now let's hope Ricky can coach him out of any bad habits he's picked up. It goes without saying,

we could use his 4:36 speed to run deep routes that would help open routes for the other wide receivers.

For his first 2 years on the practice squad I just assumed it was kind of a favor to JR seeing the kid was his neighbor and both went to Wofford. I never suspected the guy had any kind of game or any ability to be much more than the team mascot. But after watching him this preseason, it's easy to understand why they kept him around.

 

Granted, most of what he's done this year was against 2nd or 3rd stringers, but the guy has great hands and showed the ability to use his body to shield defenders. He has excellent size. While by no means fast or especially shifty, his route running was good enough to create separation. I think many of us sold this guy short and that's still clouding our judgement.

 

No one thinks the guys the next Jerry Rice, but frankly he looks good enough to get some chances when the games count. As for Hill, he may become a superstar or he may be like those guys Al Davis drafted strictly on measurables that never amounted to anything. With both of these guys, it's best to keep an open mind.

See you just said AE should've been cut long before. So are you saying you knew more than the coaches and GM at the time? Not saying you've said that, but that tends to be what everyone says in these types of arguments. We watch the games, we can see who is good and who isn't. Which is why I know Byron Bell sucks and Bersin hasn't proven anything yet, while being overhyped, and Hill has tons of potential that will exceed Bersin if he can drop the bad habits.

Okay. Okay. Fair point. But he couldn't beat out any of the terrible WRs we had last year for a roster spot.

I am just trolling of course, the answer is he has continually gotten better every year, and proved he deserved that roster spot this year.
