Bersin wouldn't have to be exposed to the waiver wire to go to IR.

My point is if we tried to switch places with Hill and Bersin (make hill active and bersin to the PS), there is no guarantee.  Right now though, our bases are covered and we're good, it's better to wait until injuries to someone on the active roster open a spot on the team for Hill to fill.

I didn't suggest putting Bersin on the PS.  I said he'll end up on IR.  If you put him on IR, you'll lose him for the season, but he'll be protected on the roster for the future.

With that said, Bersin would clear waivers easily.

Hill could legit be our future no 2 if coached up, him and KB paired together would be insane. I might be jumping ahead here but just picture if Shula did get fired and we brought back Chud next season after Hill and KB had a full year under Proehl. I cant even begin to imagine the wonders Chud could do with Cam/KB/Hill

Like whats already been posted, not that many punt returners get injured returning punts. You should be the punt returner because you are actually good at it. Not because the team doesn't have anyone else. Which we do have someone else, but choose not to use him.

So if Smith was still on the team and they didn't have anyone else to be PR but him or philly, you would want Smith to to the PR?

I'm confused now. I thought we could only have 2 of those players. We now have Lester, King, and Hill.

Edit: NVM. King doesn't have the accumulated active games yet.

Let me add to your confusion by throwing in some analysis of my own.  I think, as soon as injuries start to mount around the league, there is no way he stays on the PS.  However, if the team waits until after week 1 before signing him to a contract, they would not have to pay him on his rookie deal, a second rounder deal worth more than vet minimum.

Now, here is where I need help---is this thinking logical?  If not, maybe someone can explain it.
