Stephen Hill signs to Panthers Practice Squad

Bersin is probably gonna end up on IR as soon as Hill is comfortable with the playbook.

I think Bersin is way overhyped on here. I think if he didn't go to the same school as JR, people wouldn't care as much. He did good, but he didn't really go above and beyond against 1st and 2nd stringers this preseason. However I still think him and Hill should be on the active roster. King should have as well. I would've cut Brown and Folkerts to make room for KB, Cotchery, Avant, Hill, King, and Bersin.

To me, that sounds like a hell of a receiving corps than we have now. I don't think it's too shabby now, but we could've been even better. Instead we're putting in more hope than we should in a receiver because he went to the same school as the owner and keeping another with bobbling issues just because we don't want our CB to do punt returns.

Hopefully after week 1, we'll cut one of our 10 o-linemen for Hill.

Philly is gonna get his chance primarily on the return units this year.  Hill isn't a returner.  It'll be Bersin getting swapped out, not Philly.

No, if Hill makes the roster, we'll end up having 6 WR's on our roster.  That said, He'll stay on the PS for a few weeks because he atleast already made it through waivers, no guarantee for Bersin to do so.  Within the next 4 weeks we'll likely have an injury somewhere that opens a roster spot and the decision won't come down to keeping Bersin or him.

Philly is easy to replace if injured, CB wouldn't be.

My guess is that as other alluded to, we don't want to activate him until next week because then money not guaranteed, signing him to practice squad gives him time to practice and learn playbook, I would not be shocked if he is moved to regular roster by week 2.

Doesn't mean he will see the field much this season though, but I imagine we will want to protect him from getting scooped up by another team if we like what we see

Like whats already been posted, not that many punt returners get injured returning punts. You should be the punt returner because you are actually good at it. Not because the team doesn't have anyone else. Which we do have someone else, but choose not to use him.

I don't get the love/hate for Bersin or the love/hate for Hill. If Bersin turns into a good receiver we win. If Hill turns into a good receiver we win. Let the best contributors play and forget what you thought of them pre-draft or what school they went to.

Is there any good reason we wouldn't want all our players to be successful?
