JJ Watts gets 6yr 100 million contract!

Pantherman

If Hardy is looking for anywhere near $100m, he's not finding it from Carolina. Even if he's acquitted, perception will still skew his price down on the market. Also, Gettleman came from NYG where they stockpiled pass rushers so they didn't have to worry about giving any one guy a massive deal. We have some great depth with Alexander, Ealy, Addison, and Horton.

Either way, I'd be surprised if Hardy is in a Panther uniform next season.

I agree with this but Hardy could have serious trade value.

there isn't a de in the league that will sniff anything close to watt's contract.

there's jj watt..then there's everyone else.

Inflation of contracts....there will be more. Saw it with QBs like Vick, Flacco, etc getting the mega contract (even if it is for show)

And there is no way he is paying CJ 15+ a year either so I guess both of them are gone according to this.

They can't pay both Hardy and C.J top money and no franchise can unless they gut the team to do so.Hardy is a much bigger risk then C.J at this point. If he should lose his jury trial then what? Also appears to be much more of a problem child. Hardy is all about the money period and has said as much..We will keep C.J.They drafted a quality DE to keep the line stout in the future.

When you see contracts like this you begin to understand what a crappy system would result from removing the salary cap.

Regarding Hardy and this, he's not getting anywhere close to that contract. If he is found guilty at his jury trial teams aren't going to be knocking his door down to overpay someone staring at a six game suspension and a conditional lifetime ban if convicted again. Would that change the chances we gamble on him? Doubtful.... He's gone
