Reasons to be on the Stephen Hill bandwagon

Looking at the situation with the NY Jets it appears they have never committed to any of their receivers or QBs.

In 2012, the Jets trade up to get Stephen Hill.

He walks into the The Golden Calf of Bristol/Sanchez mess. He never has any consistency at QB in year 1. Then they draft Geno in year 2 and Geno struggles through preseason and they go with Geno at the last second of preseason. Then they tail back the passing game for Geno. Now you have Mike Vick in the picture.

He has had no consistency in the offensive system or offensive coordinators. Sparano year 1 and Mornhinweg in year 2.

The Jets had 7 receiving targets in 2013. None of the receivers topped 50 receptions. They had 3 TE with just as many receptions as the WR. And the RB was the #2 receiver with 36 receptions. In 2012, the Jets had 11 receiving targets with all but one of them under 30 receptions. They never committed to a receiving unit. Almost like receiving by committee. That is insane. How do you develop a young QB or young WR with that kind of garbage going on? Most teams will have about 3 to 5 players share the bulk of the receptions - not 11.

Hill catches the ball consistently. The biggest issue looks like his RAC. But I attribute that to their hellish situation with their passing game. Bring him in. He has more talent than all but Benjamin at the receiver position. If he can catch the ball consistently, then he is a perfect fit for the Panthers offense. It goes to the same reason I called for Benjamin in the draft. He fits Cam. Your receivers must be an extension of your QB not the other way around.

I would not be the least bit surprised if Proehl takes this kid under his wing and turns him into a #2 by the end of the season.

They said Ginn couldn't catch, and he came here and did just fine. From what I've seen this guy doesn't have any trouble catching the ball, but his hands do look about as small as Donald Lafell's hands which is a bad sign.

6'4",  215lb of muscle, runs a 4.36 40, young and has a lot to prove. That has to be better than the slow washed up WRs we have now.
