Division Rival.... Defense looked suspect in pre-season but that was without game planning and our D-line dominating.

We have Cam they have Mr. "I have played on 1/2 the teams in the league" McCown

New coach hoping the QB in Chicago is the same one in Tampa.  I don't see it.

KB outshines M. Evans.

Offense scores two TDs (KB gets one of them).... Tampa Scores two Field Goals

14-6 Good Guys

Wharton was signed after the starting guards went down for the season. Definitely not an upgrade. Old retooled OG coming off a serious injury from the previous season. He was patchwork.

You can take the best DT in the game. Surround him with poo and he now has to run through a guard, center or tackle, and a blocking back. You do not have to worry about doubling anyone on the Bucs DL since all they have is McCoy. That makes it easy to swing blockers his way during a pass. If they can give him help on the DL I would agree with you, but that DL as a unit is horrible.

And Lovie Smith was nothing as a HC in Chicago. It was his DC by the name of Ron Rivera that kept him employed as HC. Some HC just need to step down and realize they are just great Coordinators. Leslie Frazier is a horrible defensive coordinator. Had some awful defenses with the Vikings and Bengals that gave up plenty of points and allowed offenses to walk their way through the red zone. He strung 2 or 3 seasons together by riding that DL and Secondary the Vikings had. Too bad they don't have that in Tampa Bay.

Wharton was an upgrade at RG. Amini has never displayed that kind of consistent play yet. Yes he was a bandaid....but it made us better.

Lovie has talent some elite talent....that now gets to play under a coach they like instead of hate. Lovie replacing Schaino makes a difference . Tampa D will be legit....even if RR is a better defensive mind it doesn't change that IMO

I think we will surprised by our passing after the 1st quarter. Lots of short quick routes for over 250 total yards...Gano misses a field goal but the defense gets a turnover in the 4th to secure a win.

Panthers 24-17

yep...we will have a 10-6 season, no doubt about it.

we will win 24-9.

our defense against a josh mccown led offense whose game planning and managing is being done by a guy without experience against pro-level defenses? i don't see them putting much, if any, on the scoreboard.

as weak as our offense may seem (which i don't agree with), i think that our defense and offense are better than theirs. the biggest thing, tho, is that i think their offense will do worse against our D than our offense will do against their D.

i think also we're just due for an opening day win. we'll come away with a couple rushing TDs, a passing TD to benjamin, and a couple FGs while all the bucs will be able to do is get a few FGs.

Agree completely

I believe the Panthers win. Too much going strong on Defense, this could very well be the year the Panthers come out hot from the gate. Cam will have a big day, akin 2011 debut, KB will do the same with almost 200 yards and 3 tds. You'll see the two tight end sets be unleashed presenting matching up problems and causing the Bucs to keep the coverage man to man. Also look for a guy to be taking out of coverage to spy on Cam. Either way Panthers win 28-13. Big day for Cam and KB (announcing their fearsome Duo to the league) the defense shines getting sacks and creating a few turnovers, and Tolbert with our 1 rushing TD for the day.

Bucs 17-7.

The bucs will have a fierce defense this year, and their d-line is going to humiliate our o-line. Cam still doesn't have enough rhythm with his receivers either, and our run game will continue to be our run game.

Our defense also won't be as good as it was last year, I think it will only be very good this year (last year it was great).

Our usual Ron Rivera start also will make it's usual appearance, plus the Bucs got swept by us last year, they are due a win against us and will get it sunday.

The negativity in this place is amazing. Not a down has been played, and most of you are projecting doom and gloom. It is kind of amusing.

I know, I know, you are just being realistic...Whatever. Have some faith in your team.

Whats realistic is that 16 NFL teams will lose this weak and we have a 50% chance of being one of them. We all want a 16-0 season, but somewhere along the way most teams happen to lose. That is realistic.
