Turner is out?

Sent from my iPhone using CarolinaHuddle

Rivera already said Turner would split reps do to lack of conditioning.....

That means McCoy tees off on a rookie and then the rookies backup all game....

That is a huge mismatch. Turner would have his work cut out for him if he played all game....his backup can't hang with the best DT in be game. That matchup can implode us IMO

We had Chris Scott and Travelle Wharton at OG last season. I will take Turner rotating with Gary Williams, Norwell, or Velasco over Chris Scott flopping on the ground and tackling our own QB and RB.

You look at it like McCoy does not wear down. Needless to say he faced Chris Scott and Nate Chandler in 2 games last season and came away with 1 tackle.

Panthers win 27-6. Bucs get into the red zone twice. Get stopped and settle for the FG. Panthers find their way into the red zone 3 times converting 2 TDs and a FG. Gano connects on a long FG and Cam sails a pass into Benjamin for another TD from 35 yards out. Benjamin finishes the game with 7 receptions for 125 yards and 2 TDs. Bucs have no one to cover Benjamin.

Panthers D walks away with 7 sacks on the day and constant pressure on McCown. Kuechly out matches McCown call for call. Hardy picks up where he left off last season with a 3 sack day. Kuechly, Star, Johnson, and Short get a sack each. You do not want to be with a crappy OL and a journey man QB against this DL and Kuechly. Thomas Davis and Luke Kuechly keep shooting into Doug Martin's running lanes making it a long day for the Bucs running game. Mike Evans gets planted a few times by the Panthers DBs.

Wharton was an upgrade last year.

Ain't no way I am taking Velasco vs Gerald McCoy.....and feeling remotely decent about it. Don't feel good about Turner to begin with facing that.

Don't let the Schiano era fool you....best DT in the game is gonna be playing under Lovie.

Wharton was signed after the starting guards went down for the season. Definitely not an upgrade. Old retooled OG coming off a serious injury from the previous season. He was patchwork.

You can take the best DT in the game. Surround him with poo and he now has to run through a guard, center or tackle, and a blocking back. You do not have to worry about doubling anyone on the Bucs DL since all they have is McCoy. That makes it easy to swing blockers his way during a pass. If they can give him help on the DL I would agree with you, but that DL as a unit is horrible.

And Lovie Smith was nothing as a HC in Chicago. It was his DC by the name of Ron Rivera that kept him employed as HC. Some HC just need to step down and realize they are just great Coordinators. Leslie Frazier is a horrible defensive coordinator. Had some awful defenses with the Vikings and Bengals that gave up plenty of points and allowed offenses to walk their way through the red zone. He strung 2 or 3 seasons together by riding that DL and Secondary the Vikings had. Too bad they don't have that in Tampa Bay.
