Any Grateful Dead Fans?

its amazing to me how intolerant people are of each other in an age where tolerance of pretty much anything is expected. i've seen this quite a bit and i've probably been guilty of it.

someone comes and starts a thread talking about something that they think is pretty cool and they thought there might be others who would appreciate it (which there likely is) only to have early and often comments about how stupid it is.

sure, it's a free thought forum (more or less), but why not just live and let live? if some people want to share something with others who might appreciate it, why not let them have their little moment? is it that big of a deal to you that you have to go in there and share your negative opinion about it? why not just let some things go? why not show a little respect once and a while for people who like and are into different things that you are and just keep your negative thoughts about it to yourself. yeah, you've got just as much right to share your thoughts about it as they do, but why not just let it be?

^it has to be known that the grateful dead are overrated and are a ridiculously sloppy jam band.

This coming from somebody whose mother played grateful dead while I was still in the crib.

Sorry I'm not sorry

Ps. I think black is a great poster

Pps. We are talking about a band not some life issue

Ppps. I saw bob weir with mmj and bob Dylan. He's awful

it doesn't have to be known. you didn't have to piss in his bowl of tie dyed cornflakes. you just wanted to, and thats fine. just know that what you say had to be known won't change the opinion of the one whose opinion you were pooing on. all it will do is let them know that you were that guy who burst their little bubble and made thier little happy thing less happy. i know that's what a lot of people in here do often just because they think thats who they are and their role in life...being the ass. i just wish there weren't so many who felt like that.

but whatever. you killed someone's vibe. congrats.

ps...for some it's not just a band. but regardless of that, what is insignificant to you may not be so insignificant to someone else. doesn't matter if you think it should or shouldn't be significant. it's not your life. you don't know the reasons for it and you don't need to. just respect their right to have those little moments.

or don't. it's your life.

Bitch don't kill my vibe, bitch don't kill my vibe

I can feel your energy from two planets away, I got my drank, I got my music I will share it but today:

Bitch don't kill my vibe.

If someone on here posted that Toby Keith is a talented musician I would show them how he ripped off Robert earl keen songs. That's good music, check it out.

If you post that Mike Shula sucks and I give you stats about how we are top ten in points, yards, top per drive and then you burst my bubble and my vibe about Mike Shula are you not doing the same thing? Why did you have to kill my vibe about Shula? Shula was awesome to me last year

Get off the pedestal. You locked a thread because it annoyed you and you. "Don't like me when I'm annoyed" why would you burst that posters bubble because he thought it was a funny thread? Come on man

probably and that's something i may have to check myself on more often. didn't mean to preach and it wasn't necessarily pointed at you. it was just a comment on what I've seen a lot of lately...not that it hasn't been until recently that it's been happening, just that it's been recently that I've noticed it.

hopefully i didn't come across as disrespectful to you. you're one of the better posters in here.

no hard feelings. have a better day.

btw, robert earl keen is good stuff.

Different strokes for different folks.  The Dead are sloppy, but so are Hendrix, the stones, led zep and a bunch of other bands that are badass. It doesn't make their music any less enjoyable for me or millions of other people.  If you look for tightness in music then they might not be for you.  I generally just look for a good groove and playing with feeling.

I think what happened here is you're a dead fan. My comments pissed you off. You posted what you did pretty much calling me a vibe killer instead of you know discussing why the dead are a good band to you. My mind can be swayed, although with the dead it would have to take a lot :-)
