Final Panther cuts 8-30-2014

Nicks said we made an offer. He said Colts was the best fit for him and said Gettleman agreed they were a better fit for him as well

I think he is going to regret chosing Indy over us. He is going to get buried on their receiving depth chart. He will be the 4th receiver by game 7, which equals no targets in that offense because Indy has two strong tight ends. He would have been at least the #2 receiver on the depth chart here. Well maybe the #3.

It worries me that DG ever thought King and Mcnutt were any sort of answer. It's nice to see he isn't afraid to admit he's wrong and doesn't drag players along and waste roster space, in hopes to be right. But this was one of the deepest WR drafts an we only left with 1.

Haven't seen him name but with Dockery getting cut I'm thinking Thomas makes it unless we sign someone else.

When did DG ever say he thought King or McNutt were the answer? Never.

Cotchery has averaged 35 catches a year over the past 5 seasons- less than LaFell or Ginn had last season. And he got 5 years @ $8M. One (1) catch this preseason...

Avant has more catches, stays healthy, but doesn't score and he gets 1 year, $1M. Preseason: also 1 catch, 25 yards.

"He didn't exactly outperform them. He was just thrown to more."

Receivers catch passes. Their entire career is based upon catching passes. King caught 6, 3 times as many as Coitchery and Avant together. Maybe because he gets open? Faster? Better hands? Caught passes? How the fug is that not outperforming?

Preseason results don't mean much for veteran receivers, especially those who were just brought in, when the team is trying to figure out who they're gonna keep. As for getting into who gets paid more, that's between player and management. I'm not gonna go there, ever.

I have to think that Scott being cut is a good sign, as in others are better this year vs. Scott being worse.
