And his total body of work and skill set are arguably greater than any 25 year old in the history of team sports.

Funny how this race card crap never came up when Jake was the QB, people hated or loved him as a QB, but he's white so no race card for that...smh.

"Franchise QB" and "elite QB" are just words when you get down to it.  Is Cam a long term QB for this organization?  That remains to be seen. This is Cam's contract year, and if he doesn't meet G-man's standards, then he probably won't be here for the long term. That's just the cold, honest truth.  If he does, then he will be, especially since he wants his contract structured in that vein.

Last year he threw for nearly 1000 more yards than Newton.

 

He accounted for over 500 yards more total offense than Newton.

 

He accounted for more total TD's than Newton.

 

And he had exactly the same NFL passer rating as Newton: 88.8

 

Both Dalton and Newton were drafted the same year and both have started for 3 seasons.

 

Dalton's career passer rating: 85.7

Newton's career passer rating: 86.4

 

Dalton has led the Bengals to the playoffs all 3 of his seasons as a starter.

 

Newton has turned the trick once.

 

Yet Cincinnati fans fall into two basic camps where Dalton is concerned: about half think he is garbage, the other half thinks he is OK to mediocre.

 

NFL coaches and GM's rated Dalton the 19th best QB in the League heading into this season.
