Is Cam Newton Really A Franchise QB

Ok, I'm gonna take the trolls question and actually discuss, no matter how full retard the question is.  Yes, Cam Newton is absolutely a franchise QB.  Not all franchise QB's will be Peyton Manning, Aaron Rodgers, or Tom Brady, there is an entire tier of actual Franchise QB's that are just good, not great.  This list includes guys like Jay Cutler, Philip Rivers, Andy Dalton and Matt Ryan.  There is NO WAY ON EARTH that you can convince me that Cam is not better than that group of "franchise QB's.  He is currently a franchise QB who has the ability to possibly join the group of Peyton Mannings and Aaron Rodgers.  His physical skillset is not teachable, and the problems he does have are correctable, even after 3 years in the NFL.  No way around the fact that Cam has broken multiple records since joining the NFL, you don't do that if you're JAG at QB, especially with the options (or lack there of) we've on the receiving end the last 3 years.  All that said, resume cat pictures now please.

How is it that, after all the time and discussion that's gone into this topic on here, people still don't understand that there are different styles of quarterback?

Newton isn't a precision passer like Manning, Brady or Breed, so comparisons to them are empty.

Newton is a gunslinger, a 'scramble and gamble' QB whose passes are sometimes perfect and occasionally out there.

As such, he compares properly to guys like Favre, Elway and Bradshaw.

Are those guys franchise QBs?

First of all to expect Cam to be as good as Brady, P. Manning and Brees in his 4th year is expecting a little to much. He may never be as good as those guys because quarterbacks like those guys are super rare. Cam is easily as good as Ryan, Stafford, Luck, Wilson, E. Manning and Rivers if not better than some of them.

Does he have his faults, sure he does, and he may never be as good as Brady, P. Manning or Brees when it comes to passing. That doesn't mean we start looking for a new quarterback.

Cam has helped us win games that we otherwise would not have won had he not been our quarterback and we still had Clausen or Delhomme. Give him a few more years and I think he will become a better passer.

Ron and other coaches know that you can't win just being a running quarterback. That's why they have been working on getting him to be more patient with his reads instead of running the ball.

Be glad we have a dynamic quarterback that is only going to get better instead of whining and wanting to replace him.
