Without Smith, Panthers ordinary

well, actually there were only 4 games w/ 4 or fewer catches...unless you are adding in the postseason then it is 5. And if you want to penalize Smith's impact for Jake's performance in AZ and Oak then.....I don't really won't to debate that. Smith was a consistant impact on the field each and every week.....he is a huge impact even he doesn't touch the ball. Insert Moose into the #1 slot and teams will drastically play Carolina different.

Go back and look at the stats, it only included 14 games. He was suspended for the first 2 which gives him a total of 6 since he was suspended due to his own stupidity. If you count the postseason it is 7.

let's hope no one has to make up for a void b/c Smith's or Jake's absense. I guess we can easily agree on that.

* I didn't realize you were counting weeks 1 and 2....my, bad.

After 42 Posts I amazed at how little the fact that Panthers won their first 2 games against San Diego & Chicago both Quality opponents without Steve Smith or the starting Offensive Line of starters. DWill and Stew were still getting on track or had not hit their stride. This team has shown year after year if chance throws a monkey wrench in their plans they regroup and new reserves of skill and passion.

This team know how to overcome obstacles!

I think the main reason Sorensen wrote that article was so he could use his Mnemonic/Pun/Religious device

PSUS = Please Save Us Steve.

PSUS = Panther'sJesus

Kinda fitting I guess as so many folks go to church then go see the Panthers or see the BOA as their Church

well David Carr and Vinny T won games for us w/ Jake out......that didn't mean they replaced what he brought to the offense.

the reason we have never had back to back winning seasons is b/c Carolina hasn't been able to overcome injury obstacles.......the monkey wrench has had more power than you give it.

Has anyone tried calling the guy (704-358-5119) to tell him how ordinary his writing is?

Why would someone do something stupid like that?? It is one thing to post on a message board, it is another thing to call him up and complain about him. That isn't manly, it is rude, inconsiderate and totally over the top.

Hate to break it to you guys, but I think the Panthers will look pretty ordinary with Smith this season...

As for Zod's comment about the Panthers, he runs a great website and is a terrific photographer. But I don't know that he should try and make a living forcasting games, seasons or handicapping the NFL.

Well, you know....

After 2007 I don't see how anyone can think that Smith without Jake would put up big numbers. When Jake went down, Smith disappeared. Even with Moore his numbers suffered greatly.

Still got over 1,000 yards

We showed last year that we can still win without Smith. I don't think it would easy but we could. Without Jake we wouldn't win 6 games this year.
