Without Smith, Panthers ordinary

We don't have that Moose anymore. We now have the 36 yr old model. Moose didn't get enough credit for exactly how good he was before he wasted away some good years in Chicago.

His point was that someone will step up. So this could be Jarretts chance to make a name for himself. Let's be honest, this league is all about opportunities, so I fully expect someone to make an impact (not Smith sized).

When Moose stepped up in 04.....he was already a proven WR and the best WR at that point to ever put on a Panther uniform. If Smitty goes down....there just isn't anyone who we realistically could expect to replace what he brings to the offense now.

We could realstically sign a vet who could replace Kemo.

That was my only point.

If they had the Pittsburgh Steelers' 2008 defense it wouldn't matter much. That was one of the worst offenses I ever saw win a SB as far as their production in the regular season passing and running. But they don't have the Steelers' 2008 defense. And never have. Not even close. So he does matter a lot.

Wtf? Did someone forget to inform Sorenson that Smitty will only be out for the pre-season? That alone discredits the entire article and no further reading is needed. All it took from him was a little bit of research to find that out, but alot of "analysts" today don't know what that means.

Hate to break it to you guys, but I think the Panthers will look pretty ordinary with Smith this season...

I can't wait to see the look on your face when the Panthers prove you wrong.

I have a sneaky feeling that the Panthers will have a very good year and win the NFC South once again.

SMith had several games where he contributed very little. Interestingly we won most of those. Without Jake we would have won much fewer and without Williams and Steward even less.

Smith is a game changer but is surely not irreplaceable. Would we be hurting? Probably so, but I can think of several other guys who would hurt us just as much.

As for Zod's comment about the Panthers, he runs a great website and is a terrific photographer. But I don't know that he should try and make a living forcasting games, seasons or handicapping the NFL.
