Other NFL cuts of interest....

Texans signed FS Chris Clemons to a two-year, $2.7 million contract.

Houston its overhauling its safety corps, landing Clemons and Kendrick Lewis, and bringing back Danieal Manning on a pay cut. Sophomore D.J. Swearinger also returns. Clemons, 28, started 32-of-32 games for the Dolphins the past two seasons. Although he isn't a big-time playmaker, Clemons can cover the deep middle and is a productive tackler, racking up 191 stops the past two seasons. He was a top-20 safety in Pro Football Focus' 2013 ratings. Mar 28 - 5:07 PM

Honesty, just what we need. Someone who can cover when our front doesn't get any push.

One player I’d expect to be on a roster Week 1: Safety Major Wright. Cut by Bucs yesterday, already receiving plenty of interest.

To be perfectly honest, I thought Major Wright was the best performing safety the Bucs had in camp. That couldn't have been an easy decision to cut him...Wright was consistently flying to the ball and making tackles.

Wright just turned 26 in July and was Bears starting strong safety for last 3 years. Last yr had 100 tackles, 2 FF, 2 INT. Returned an INT for TD in each of last 3 seasons. Over last 3 seasons had 9 INT, 17 PD. drafted 3rd round (75th overall) in 2010 out of Florida...started at FS all three years for Gators before going pro after junior season. In the BCS National Championship Game at the end of 2008 season, Wright had had nine tackles and an interception in the Gators win over Oklahoma
