So maybe I'm crazy but why do we take so long to do anything? From cuts to signings we seem slow to make decisions. Is it just our cap situation we can't afford to make early moves?

Yes, you're crazy.  There is no rush to cut players.  They want to make the right decisions.

I can't really think of a reason why cutting players today rather than tomorrow matters. The Panthers have their way of doing things and for all we know cuts have happened and no one is reporting them.

I can't really think of a reason why cutting players today rather than tomorrow matters. The Panthers have their way of doing things and for all we know cuts have happened and no one is reporting them.

The only reason I would think it makes any difference is if someone drops a player that is better than a player you kept. For example:

We drop Horton (since we are deep at DE) so we can keep Philly, but Atlanta drops Hester afterwards. We like Hester better, so we drop Philly but Horton is already picked up by someone else. If we just waited til tomorrow, we could have dropped Philly, grabbed Hester, and kept Horton. But we made the move too quick.

I think the Panthers are in constant contact with agents and even if their roster is full they can negotiate with a FA or be aware of someone going on waivers.

 

The other thing is say tampa picking up a guy with extensive knowledge of our playbook. Someone that has been on the team for a few years. Tampa is pretty high on the waiver list but the longer we wait the less time they have to make that move.

So all the teams doing cuts now are making the wrong decisions? Idk about that. I'm also talking about signings we do seem to wait for everything till the last moment I was curious why. This applies to last year too.
