Is it still to early to be worried about Byron Bell?

He has spent his pro career learning moves and counter moves to push guys to the right. Now he has to become opposite man and reverse all those moves. I mentioned this before, but it's going to be the fourth or fifth game before the line gels.

It is not too early to worry but it is too late.  'It is what it is', and it is not going to change.  The Panthers decided several weeks and possibly even several months ago that Bell would be the starting LT.  Bell 'is who he is', and a large part of the success or failure of this season will be how he and the entire O-Line plays.

I will also say that Bell will need good play from his LG (Amini) who is coming back from a major injury.  I sill believe that one of the reasons why Gross had such a great year last year was because his buddy Wharton played LG. Those two just worked well together, and it showed on the field.

If I bought someone a Nike Bell jersey would they wear it?

I already bought one. And my niece has been wearing it for 2 years. Believe it or not some people love the Panthers whether they win or lose. Whether they make the pro bowl or play poorly.

I think it's pretty normal to be nervous about Bell at LT. But not based on preseason week 4. Just based on him being slower than every guy he lines up against. He looks out manned and hopefully we scheme for that.

The one thing our line gets criticized for unfairly is the run game. Deangelo is really really bad. Just his decision making and playing physical. He makes the line look bad. Also Shula does some bizarre things like ask a receiving Tight End to block a Pro Bowl defensive end. We get outflanked by defeated tight ends way too often.

Gel?  Bell never mastered the right side.  How is he going to master the left side in 4 or 5 games?  He was the weakest link on the right side last year.  But now he is on Cam's blindside.  It has disaster written all over it.

We all forget how many other bad tackles are in the league.  Truth is Bell isn't good, but he's certainly nowhere near the bottom of the barrel AND we haven't committed big money or draft picks toward him.

We could have Will Beatty, Terron Armstead, Jason Smith, etc.

People Bell will cause us wins this year. Cam might be Derek Carr this year. This franchise seem to cant get it right on a consistent basis. We will have the worse line in the league. I hate to see what Lovie Smith have written up for them. Although I root for Byron Bell but he just isnt that good.
