Is it still to early to be worried about Byron Bell?

I didn't have a problem with Bell starting as LT and I won't compain about it.

I will complain about the fact we didn't draft a replacement that can have time to learn. It is unlikley any rookie will come in and just be the better option...but the future should still be on the roster now. What I don't like is Bell being the only option and trated like he is the future...he';; have to play exactly how he hasn't played to be the future.

How many years of mediocre performance does the guy get? If he wasn't undrafted, people here would have been calling for his head years ago. But because it is a great story, everyone pulls for him despite being the weakest link in the o-line each year. I'll never forget all the love the guy got his first year of starting. It was almost sickening.

He hasn't started a real game at the position he is playing for us this year. Players progress. It can happen and sometimes you won't see it in the preseason.

That being said, I never said a word about banking our season on the guy. That was some real selective worrying of my original post. I don't know if you're new here or what but read some posts on him. If you think everyone loves him, start finding some posts and quote them.

On the real, haven't we always known he's bad? Shouldn't we have? I'll say this he's been better the. What he was drafted at... So I'd say he's about a 6-7th round quality player. I'm a honest crow eater so if I have to eat some this year so be it. But our tackle situation is so depressing.

Please tell me this has been photoshopped or something.

Nope, that was the Brett Keisel's (or however the fug that fuging shitty Steelers player name is spelled) first sack I believe.

I'll just say this.

If I had bad ribs, the last person I would want protecting my blindside would be Byron Bell.

One good thing about Bell sucking on the right hand side of the line is at least Cam could see the defender coming and make an amazing move to escape.  He won't have that luxury this year.  I just hope we don't have to see Bell standing over Cam looking lost as our franchise lay in a heap on the ground.
