Punt Returner Free Agents

Name a decent return man that started off his career looking like poo? You either can or can't at that spot.

What's your definition of "looking like poo"?

How about this, give the guy at least one regular season game before declaring him a complete bust huh?

I'm comparing someone that plays the same position as someone else to someone that plays the same position as someone else? Wut?

You can't compare quarterbacks to returners. The reasons have already been stated.

You can't bring up a complete dumbass comparison (the one you just brought in) to try to argue against a very legit one (mine). It doesn't make your argument any better.

Right now, I just think you two just like to play dumb just to keep the argument going.

I'm comparing a returner to a returner. I'm comparing a quarterback to a quarterback. You need to learn the composition of analogies.

Also, again I'll ask, since people are acting like he's got lost fumbles like crazy, how many did he not recover?

With the shape of the ball, the recovery doesn't matter since the ball could very well just bounce into the other team's hands. You're arguing a point that is based solely on the luck of a bounce. We can't continue to rely on luck during the regular season.

You need to understand what I'm trying to tell you. You can't compare 2 QBs to try to argue against the comparison of 2 PRs. You also need to learn the difference between the 2 positions as well. QB is a position you can learn. The norm for returners is they have it or don't.

Tonight

Why give him a regular season game. Isn't the purpose of preseason so you don't knowingly do unwise things when it matters?

I don't think you like Philly Brown as a person. You talk like he stole your lunch money.

You can call it luck or whatever, did he recover them all or not?

That's not even the point. He shouldn't have had to recover them.

You know that the NFL games can hinge upon mistakes on kicks.  He is consistently bobbling the ball.  Just because he is recovering muffs today doesn't mean he'll recover them tomorrow.

Nothing against Philly, but I don't want to spend the whole season holding my breath on every kick return.  I'm not buying that he needs more practice.  You can either catch with consistency, or you can't.  Returning is not new to the kid.

This.
