First...the verdict would not be until after the rules change.

Second....we are not really talking about the law here. The punishment by the league does not have to follow the law.

Yeah but the NFLPA lawyers would/should appeal that in court because the arbitration rules that they agreed to follow under the CBA just changed on the spot.

IMO, if I get a speeding ticket and the fine is $300 and then in between my violation date an my court date it goes up to a year in jail instead, I would argue that I would have been a lot less likely to commit the violation under those stricter penalties.

Again I understand it isn't a court of law, but lawyers would get it into an actual court of law quickly I would think.

It would look bad on the NFLPA if they argued the case. With approximately 50% of fans being female the NFL Had to react in this manner.
