Yes, those awards are great...did he earn them, yes he did. Wouldn't have gotten them if he didn't deserve them. But as you stated, each position has a job to do. And each job differs from the 10 other positions out there at any given time on any given play. Don't get me wrong, not saying Kuechly isn't the best at what he does, I've stated numerous times he is the best MLB in the game. But as you said, can't compare one position to the other that easily, if at all when it comes to stats and numbers. Can Kuechly do what Lavonte did if he was a 4-3 OLB on the Bucs...who knows? I'm sure he wouldn't be far off, if at all. And vice versa.

Kuechly has the title at the end of the day, so of course that's what it will always come down to. But no matter what there will always be a debate and there will forever be a debate.

Luke would be just as good as David as a weak side linebacker. After all he started as a Will in the pros before going to the middle. He led the country in tackles at both positions in college. He came out in 3 years and what would have been senior year he was the defensive rookie of the year. Followed up with the DPY in what would have been his first year in the league if he had stayed his senior year. But there was nothing left to do in college so he moved on. Luke has dominated wherever he has gone and whatever position he is playing. He really is a phenom.

One Tampa passed on...and to this day I wish had taken him. Luke was my second choice that year...Morris Clayborne(Dallas CB) was my first(has yet to really do anything over there, happy we didn't get him). But our pick Barron should have himself a decent year in the system Lovie has in place.

David has big shoes to fill as the next Derrick Brooks. Which do you think Lovie would take if he could be honest and pick either of them. After all he had Chicago's version of both in Urlacher and Briggs.

Lavonte for sure. Where Lavonte is in his career is CURRENTLY beyond where Brooks was. Not to say it will end the same way. But the potential is greater. But to even have a career remotely close to what Brooks had would be great for David and the Bucs as a whole. I'm very curious as to what Lavonte can do in Lovie's system. Saw a tidbit in the Preseason, but Lovie seemed to focus more on individual match ups and really didn't release the hounds per say when it came to the defensive playbook. We'll see in just a few days though...
