I really don't want to see a sequel to this, but I guess it's inevitable. The actress who plays his wife will be replaced with Megan Fox, the aliens will all run around in those power suits, and the lead dude will have a McGuffin only he can find presented as a quest that will be implemented right before the aliens kill all the people. Gah.

Is it ok for mature 16 year old who's parents are slightly on the overprotective side when it comes to the movies he is allowed to see?

By the time a kid is 16 you should be worrying about what he's actually doing when he's "at the movies", not what movies he might watch.

When I was 16 I had already seen the goriest and most vulgar movies out and that was before broadband and internet videos were prevalent. I guarantee he has seen much worse. Not to mention it's not particularly bad; a guy losing his fingernail was the grossest part.

The movie was pretty good, but it was not what I was expecting. I thought there would be a bit more action people vs aliens.
