The Week Two Rule

...is worth remembering right now.

 

Specifically, that teams sometimes wait until after week one of the regular season before they sign available veteran players in order to avoid having to guarantee their full year's salary.

 

That's not to say the Panthers will go on a post week one spending spree, mind you.  But it does mean they could take a look at options when the time comes.
