Lester has been pitiful. He does not deserve a spot on this team. Several, including myself, were hoping he would develop into a nice player. Buy after the SF playoff loss and now this preseason, he should be gone. He is nothing but a liability.

So Lester gets one season (where he did show moments) and he should be gone already?

His INT against AZ last year was probably the best true S play we have seen in years and years. He is young....still worth seeing what he has IMO

I agree he showed some flashes of decency.  He also showed several more flashes of inadequacy.  He was a liability more than he was an asset last season and so far this preseason.  I am all for giving guys a shot, but not when that guy is holding down the weakest position on our football team.  If we had a quality starter he could learn (and hide) behind, then fine.  The problem is he does not, and I would be scared to death if he was pushed into a starter role.

Don't hate him.  Just don't like him at safety.  He doesn't seem to have the football smarts for it. 

 

Corner is a more 'reactive' spot (and the spot he played in college).  Fox and Hurney never should have switched him, but nothing can change that now. 

 

Had he been moved to corner prior to his big injury, I could have seen him succeeding.  Now, he no longer has the physical ability to play corner, and he never had the mental ability to play safety.

 

So whadda ya do?

 

Ya know I get it, I can justify the move. Passing league, same div as the aints. Fox wanted another ball hawk deep that could tackle and figured "well I played safety, I can teach anyone to play safety".
