Depth. Can now "play" multiple positions in the Secondary. I'd say thats what it comes down to. Could be cut of course but you may as well keep him over a Josh Thomas or James Dockery who he's vying with for the final DB spot because he can play multiple places.

Thank goodness. The Russell and Lester show was getting unwatchable.

Have you watched Godfrey this preseason? Or pay attention to his camp reports?

He has looked awful and has gotten beaten like a drum. No position change is going to miraculously make him have the ability to cover receivers. He is no better than Lester or Russell.

Godfrey has been beat out at CB.  He has one last chance to make the team at safety.  If we bring in a safety from the waiver wire, we will need to cut a player at safety to make room.  Gettleman knows talent and who has lost it.

I've watched him be a better safety then Russell and Lester.

Your hate has blinded you to stupidity. Godfrey is a way better Safety then both of them put together.

      Defense was not that good last night. However, if they can clean up some terrible offensive zone clears and bad defense(from offensive players too) they will be unbeatable.    I said this last night to my wife at the game, the only team that can beat the canes this year is the canes.  Stay out of box, know when to pinch, don’t get caught flat footed, and clear the damn puck.
