Probably not who you were thinking of, but Chad Pennington was a finalist for a Rhodes Scholarship.  He didn't end up getting it though.

The choice to play football where decapitation is highly possible is in itself a dumb choice. Thus, none of them is smart. They're all dumb jocks that are getting paid more than those who work hard in the scientific field to make other people's lives better.

You don't have to be that smart to play football.  With the exception of Manning, there is an inverse relationship between intelligence and success in the league.

 

With that said Fitzpatrick scored a 48 out of 50 on the Wonderlic and finished in under 9 minutes which is crazy fast.
