Revisiting PS4 vs. XBONE

I know we talked about this in detail but do you guys have any opinions based on owning these systems for a year now? Which one has more compelling titles? Which one has the best network and is it priced reasonably? And with every system launch there are a utility belt full of features that never functioned or were not actually useful. Which system is turning out to be more practical?

I am an avid Fifa player and 2015 will be coming out soon. It's the only console game I am attached to but I am thinking I will have to upgrade eventually if not now.

Buy it for PC if you have a rig that will run it. Mods will own the poo out of the base console version for XB1/PS4

As for your question: I have both, and up until I tried out Madden 15 w EA Access I hadn't touched my Xbox in months. Online differences are minimal at best now, and using the Xbox as my media center isn't something that really appeals to me. My PS4 I use multiple times a week. Not everyone is going to feel the same, but that's been my experience.

The appeal of Fifa for me is to get away from the desk and sit in front of my 46 inch TV. I have a computer that would probably run it flawlessly. I always prefer the controllers but I've heard you can sync ps3 controllers to a PC. Id probably need a 16 ft hdmi cable to connect my PC to my TV and that seems like a hassle.

All the streaming video features don't appeal to me unless they make a reasonably priced sports streaming app. They had Sunday Ticket a few times but the value wasn't there for an in market fan.

You can definitely use a PS3 controller on PC.  You can also use it with a bluetooth dongle if you have one (if not they're dirt cheap).  I played FIFA 13 and 14 on PC with my PS3 controller.

As for PS4/XB1 they are both solid for sports but I prefer the PlayStation style controller for sports games so I went with PS4.  It's also the more straight-forward device in my opinion after owning both.

HDMI cable from PC to t.v., Xbox 360/PS3 controller hooked up to FIFA with Mods on the PC. Boom done! Just can't recommend a console purchase for you (especially next gen for FIFA alone). What other type of games do you like?

I'm going xb1 once I get some cash at the end of the year. I really want the halo mcc and I prefer the controller.

Frankly, since Sony owned the narrative during the launch and me hasn't had much going for it lately I understand b why everyone has flocked to the Sony wagon.

Both are great console experiences. The power differential is kind of meaningless in the grand scheme if things. If that's super important, build a pc and Lord over all the console gamers.

It all depends on what you enjoy.

Same as last console wars, in the end you should have just taken the money you were going to spend on a console and put it towards the graphics card on your new computer. Ive had a ps4 since it came out and besides nba2k the only thing i use it for is netflix and even that I could have used my computer to watch. With the right drivers you can use whatever controller you like, xbox ps4, offbrand, it doesnt matter. Buying a gaming rig was the best decision I ever made and for 500 bucks on newegg you can do the same.
