Cam has never had a good preseason: here is the hard proof

Cam 2 of 6 for 17 yards, 0 TDs, 0 INTs

 

Panthers 23, Dolphins 17

Cam 8 of 11 for 119 yards, 1 TD, 0 INTs

 

Panthers 17, Jets 12

Cam 6 of 15 for 60 yards, 1 TD, 0 INTs

Week 1: Panthers 24, Bears 17

Cam 3 of 6 for 16 yards, 1 TD, 1 pick 6

 

Week 2: Eagles 14, Panthers 9

Cam 8 of 17 for 112 yards, 0 TDs, 0 INTs

 

Week 3: Panthers 34, Ravens 27: This is the game where we had 4 returns for TDs and the offense did nothing.

Cam 10 of 19 for 99 yards, 0 TDs, 0 INTs

Panthers offense only had 67 yards in the first half

10 preseason games prior to this year and the one in bold is the only good game he has ever played. In fact, his best preseason was in 2012...the same year he had his worst year as a pro.

 

When you look at how his preseason performances have utterly zero impact on his regular season ones, I think it's officially past time getting over Cam's preseason games.

It's true. Cam always looks bad in the preseason.  Plenty of us didn't think he was ready to start on opening day of his rookie season and thought Clausen should start while Cam was brought along slowly.

And by contrast Jimmy Clausen has zero good regular season games.

Cam is also trying to get a feeler on how he can cut on his ankle in live action. Whatever doomsdayers..go watch Nascar.

I'm a lot more worried about the ankle than the rib.  That rib will probably be fine by the regular season kickoff.  I've cracked ribs twice and while it does hurt like hell, they heal surprisingly quick.

I'm less worried about the ankle. Cam at worst has minor pain in it. Its not like its swelling or something...

He really hasn't hardly ever flashed in the pre-season. But like I said in another thread, the sample size here is so small and you must take into account that others are rusty and not in mid-season form. It isn't overly concerning but as was mentioned earlier, he is hurt and you can't help but think about that.

I'm not worried about both. His ankle and rib will heal just fine. What I am worried about is the 467 hits he's taken in three seasons. Cam needs stronger protection.

For sure but that astronomical hit number is also because of Cams playing style. It's a blessing and a curse.

I concede that this number isn't without some inflation but it's still scary as poo.

Think of all the superman dives, goal line carries, ect cam has had. Those attempts need to go down as he gets older.

In fact I will be surprised as poo if he is the go to guy this year as he's been in the past.

 I am seriously beginning to believe that some of u spend more time listening to the media than seriously paying attention to your team. How did Cam have a worst 2012? Because he didn't duplicate 2011 season or because your team won one more game in 2012 than the season before? 

 

Plus, I am sure there are a whole lot more variables going into these preseason games than simply teams going out and playing against other teams. That is why u keep hearing folks say, don't put so much stock in those preseason games. For some teams, preseason is simply to weed out.
