Olsen son has a open heart surgery today

this completely. i'm not sure how much the little guy is suffering, but the whole hospital and surgery thing as well as all the other thoughts and worries beyond what is normal for a child without health issues just makes me respect parents who have to deal with it as well as their champion children whose bodies are doing the fighting.

i'll say this, i've been pleasantly surprised by the reactions from posters so far. when i saw olsen's tweet yesterday, i have to admit i was worried there would be some focusing more on the fact that olsen was taking some time off to deal with this when there is such. degree of doom and gloom by some around this team heading into the season. i thought some would be more worried and concerned about the effect on the panthers preparation than a father of a young child having open heart surgery.

I can only imagine how gut wrenching this is.  My son only had to have his adenoids removed when he was 3 and that just about put me in the looney bin.

Prayers for the whole family as I know Mom and Dad need it as much as TJ.

I have a friend who works at Levine and has had a chance to see Olsen's kids.  She said they were beautiful babies.
