Fantasy Football - Panthers Players

For you fantasy football players out there, what's your take on Panthers Players?  I'm an avid fan of FF, but sometimes I get caught drafting too high as a fan, or not drafting because I don't want to jinx one of our guys.  Anyway, here are our mentionable players and their average draft position per ESPN.

38. Cam Newton

79. Greg Olsen

99. Deangelo Williams

140. Kelvin Benjamin

174. Jonathan Stewart

Targeting any of these guys at those positions? Avoiding?

I'm probably going to try and get KB in all my leagues haha, I think he's a great deep pick with tons of upside.  I also really like Olsen and think KB will help open the middle of the field for him this year.  J stew isn't a bad pickup that late either, and think he could get a fair amount of the goal-line carries.

Cam will drop down a lot after the rib injury. KB has only gone up since the beginning of the preseason and Olsen has been going high. I have been drafting Cam, Olsen and KB and Carolina defense but I don't always get Cam when I think he's worth it. KB has been going in the 8th round in my leagues. Carolina D will end up being the best Panthers pick IMO.

Only Panther fans know what kind of steal they are getting with Benjamin. He can be had in the damn 14th or 15th round and is a good WR4 that could possibly put up WR2 numbers this year. As for Cam, I NEVER get him because I always think I would jinx him.

Wrong. He can't be had after the 9th round. He goes as early as the 7th or 8th too.

How you gon say I'm wrong when I have already drafted in 4 of my leagues? The highest he has been drafted is 9th round. I got him in the 14th round in 2 of my leagues and 13th in my other league.

You must be playing in 6-team leagues.

Haha, I think people just don't know about him thomas, i can bet you anything he's probably not on my friends radar in my league. At least I hope not.

Well if you're playing with idiot friends that's possible but in public money leagues he's going no later than the 9th.

    • I complete disagree. Who is available is extremely relevant. If you have a couple of players you would be happy with and you can still get them if you trade back, you should do that in a heartbeat. Being afraid that people will lowball you next year is an odd stance. Then you just say no next year, problem solved. In this particular draft you can get a very good player at 46. But to each their own.
    • I don't think so.  Watson really screwed them up.  I see something happening, but do not know what.  Cousins could be had in a trade--but they liked Flacco when he played there.  If it were me, I would not spend the #2 pick on Sanders.  I would go after a tier 2 qb because I think Will Howard is going to start in the NFL soon, and I think Ewers was rated very high at the beginning of the year--he knows adversity and he beat out a Manning while taking Texas to 2 playoff appearances.  I am not good at picking QBs, but I think Howard's run pass option and his accuracy is going to help someone.  Stay in Ohio and play for the Browns behind Flacco--
    • After Cam at #1, there are three or four elite players and there could be a trade--If I am the Giants and I am needed a winning season badly and I have several needs, I might trade out and pick up mid first and an extra second rounder, including a QB--while nobody is going to move up to #3 for Sanders, they might for Carter or Hunter.  If the Giants then move back, Sanders could still be in play.  That could be the trade in the top 3.  New England wants Campbell and I get that; Jacksonville at #5 could move back if someone wants Graham or Jeanty.  But barring some trade, the top 4 are probably locked in. So it could be 2 hours into the draft before we get any surprises. Nice list, by the way--you nailed it.
